Singer Madonna wants to join hands with singer Lady Gaga and perform with her.
Madonna, 54, reportedly asked her manager to call Gaga to discuss the proposal, reports mirror.co.uk.

"Madonna just called to ask Gaga to perform with her at Yankee Stadium. Her manager reached out to us and said Madonna would like Gaga to perform with her, " Vincent Herbert, Gaga's writer and producer said.

However, Gaga, 26, could not accept the offer due to her own busy working schedule.

"She really wished she could do it. But Gaga's committed to her own tour," Herbert said.

Washington, September 26: Katy Perry has been named as Woman of the Year by Billboard magazine.

The 27-year-old singer was hailed as "one of the most exciting and inspiring artists in the industry" by the publication's editorial director, Bill Werde, as he announced her selection.

"Katy Perry broke into the industry not even five years ago, and has already accomplished more than most artists can hope for in an entire career," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"We are thrilled to celebrate these incredible achievements and her amazing past 12 months by presenting her with the Billboard Woman of the Year Award.

"With what seems like a never-ending supply of record breaking, chart-topping hits, coupled with her unique and fresh style, Katy Perry is hands-down one of the most exciting and inspiring artists in the industry today," he added.
The annual event, now in its seventh year, celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business.

This year's event will take place in New York City on November 30 where Katy will receive her award. (ANI)

Singer Rihanna is reportedly keen on bagging a role in the remake of 1983 film Scarface.

The 24-year-old wants to play the role of Elvira Hancock, essayed by actress Michelle Pfeiffer in the original movie.

“Rihanna loves Scarface. Some of her music videos have been based on Michelle’s character, Elvira,” thesun.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

“She knows all the words and even has her walk perfected,” the source added.

The singer made her acting debut with actor Liam Neeson in Battleship earlier this year. She will soon be seen in Evan Goldberg’s End Of The World and is making a debut in voice over with Happy Smekday!

Marvel studios have confirmed a sequel to the 2012 superhero movie “The Avengers” and the project will be once again helmed by Joss Whedon.

Walt Disney studios has announced a release date for Marvel’s sequel to the biggest superhero blockbuster and third highest-grossing film of all time “The Avengers”.

The film is scheduled to release May 1, 2015, reports contactmusic.com.

“Joss Whedon returns to write and direct the untitled Marvel’s Avengers sequel, set for release (on) May 1, 2015,” the producers said in a statement.

Singer Jennifer Lopez’s boyfriend Casper Smart surprised her with a lavish birthday party on a yacht.

Smart and her manager Benny Medina arranged the party with her closest friends and family Tuesday night, reports contactmusic.com. Lopez turned 43.

“She was so surprised! All of her close friends and family were there, and there were silver balloons and fresh flowers everywhere,” said a source.

“The cake was a teddy bear because she and Casper call each other ‘Bear’!’ and he gave her a necklace with a tiny pink diamond teddy bear on it,” added the source.

The couple were joined by guests.

“Jennifer was kissing Casper and he was by her side all night. She really had the best time,” said the source.

Lopez started dating Smart, 25, a few months after her seven-year marriage to Marc Anthony ended July 2011.

The 26-year-old has teamed up with bosses at fragrance firm Coty Beauty to release Lady Gaga Fame, reports contactmusic.com.

“It is the first-ever black eau de parfum… and it will smell different on different people,” said Coty Beauty executive Steve Mormoris.

The clear bottle, shaped like an egg, features a claw-inspired cap and the words “Ultimate Masterpiece” inscribed along the side.

The product will hit stores in the US in August.

Singer Katy Perry says she has not cut the scenes of her split with British comedian Russell Brand from her upcoming 3D documentary- concert film “Katy Perry: Part of Me”, but has kept them limited.

She believes certain things should be kept between two people.

“I didn’t get too detailed about the specifics because I believe that’s only supposed to be between the two people that are in it,” thesun.co.uk quoted the 27-year-old as saying.

“I just wanted to encourage people, to let them know that it’s okay if they have problems. It’s okay if they’re going through a situation, they don’t have to lay down and die, they can get through it,” Perry said.

She visited a laboratory for the first time on the set and was fascinated by the work of real scientists and is inspired to study the subject.

After earning popularity and critical acclaim in his native land, veteran Indian actor Kamal Haasan is ready to go international. He will make his Hollywood debut with “The Lord of the Rings” producer Barrie Osborne, who hopes to tell an Indian story in Hollywood style.

Kamal and Osborne announced their tie-up at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend here.

The actor-filmmaker is looking forward to working with Osborne, who he says has worked with “champions of Hollywood”.

“The world has seen his work. You keep doing hard work but you are not sure if it is good work. It is only after people like Barrie approach you and make you realise,” said the 57-year-old.

“The lineage that Barrie comes with is close to my heart. All the heroes that I have looked up to have worked with him. He has worked with champions of Hollywood like Cappola (Francis Ford Coppola),” he added.

Some of Osborne’s notable works include “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, “The Waterhorse”, “The Warrior’s Way” and “The Prophet”.

Osborne hinted that the project with Haasan will be a mix of Indian and western sensibilities.

“We plan to tell the story of Indian history and tradition in Hollywood style,” he said.

The international filmmaker says Kamal is like a cinema encyclopedia.

“It was a pleasure to meet Kamal (Haasan) over the years. Recently, he came to Hollywood to do some of his work on his new film ‘Vishwaroopam’. I was invited to see the film and I was impressed.

“After that we started talking about the idea to work together. It is such an honour to know him because his knowledge of literature and films is like that of an encyclopedia,” Osborne said.

“We started to talk about the possibility of working together and explore different avenues. Kamal presented an idea to me that I felt was compelling,” he added.

Asked about the kind of projects they are planning to work upon, Haasan says they are yet to decide upon it.

“We are still developing the idea. Its an international movie involving the world. We have just decided that we would work together. As an actor I’ll do it, as a writer I’ll do it, and if he needs me to direct it, I’ll do that also,” he said.
