The Tamil version is more upbeat. Munni… was more of a folk melody, but Kalasala... has given me a lot of opportunity to exhibit my jhatkas and nakras. The song’s composition and beats have been perceived in such a way that the entire focus lies on my waist. Director Dharani is there with us throughout the shoot and he, along with choreographer Robert, keeps asking me to move my hips to the beat. It’s just too exciting that I even start singing the number aloud — Kalasala kalasa… Konjina konja konja (laughs). I’m yet to shoot with Simbu, but I hear he’s an exceptionally good dancer. Sonu, Simbu and I will make this song a rocking one.
